Pressdemocrat.com, the online service of The Press Democrat, is a
comprehensive news and information resource. Pressdemocrat.com's entertainment
section, Going Out (www.pressdemocrat.com/goingout), offers coverage
of the North Bay's arts scene, as well as interactive and multimedia
features.
The movie section contains listings and reviews -- including a "be
a critic" tool that gives users the opportunity to add their own opinions
of current releases. The "be a critic" feature is also in use in the
dining section, where users can search through more than 600 restaurant
listings by ambiance, price, location and keyword as well as read
and contribute reviews. Going Out also includes the North Bay Music
Source, a compendium of local band information where users can read
profiles and download audio files.
The entertainment section also includes pressdemocrat.com's online
community calendar, a comprehensive, fully-searchable events database.
The calendar includes entertainment, food and wine, civic and volunteer
events, as well as annual festivals, bazaars and fairs. Users can
not only search entries by date, type of event, location and keyword;
they can also submit an event for listing in the calendar.
