Specializing in Web design, software development and wine industry portals, FreeRun Technologies, Inc. has been immersed in the Internet business since 1993. We were called on by Stags' Leap Winery to design a striking, almost mysterious Web site that takes advantage of leading edge technologies (primarily Macromedia's Flash) and a series of truly amazing black and white photographs that capture the age and beauty of their 150-year-old landscape and 19th century manor house.

The home page uses seperate background Flash movies to randomly load one of four (4) different images each time the home page is requested by a viewer. To tie in the theme, we affected a graphic frame for each of the content pages representing a watercolor wash border as you may find on a hand-processed print. As well, each of the content pages uses a singular Flash movie to navigate around the site. This provides animation and interactivity; while still allowing for quick updating.

The Art & Literature section of the site uses multiple Flash movies to display some of the featured works of resident artist Patrick McFarlin. The goal for the Art & Literature section was to develop an online gallery that artistically presented McFarlin's works without competing with them.

This site takes a different approach to the typical load screen you see with other Flash sites. It uses alluring quotes combined with simple animation to set a mood for the viewer before "unfolding" the site for them.
