"Southwest Symphony"
depicts the wide open landscapes, as well as the wildlife and activities
of the American Southwest. Set to the music of classical composers
such as Bartok, Copland, Debussy, Sibelius, Dvorak and Holst, this
is the first of my Symphony programs to include human activity. In
addition to scenics and wildlife, "Southwest Symphony" includes
sequences with cowboys, hang gliding and Colorado River rafting, to
name a few. As with my other Symphony programs, great care was taken
to match the action of the images to each phrase of the music. To
produce "Southwest Symphony" I was hired by Phoenix Public
Television Station KAET who partnered with member stations in Denver,
Salt Lake City and Tucson. Footage from these stations' film and video
libraries was edited to music provided by Naxos of America.
"Southwest Symphony" is my fourth music program to appear
on PBS. In addition to my music programs, I produce film, video and
multimedia for business, education and entertainment.
