Longing

I created this composite in Photoshop (in 8 separate layers) based on my life, from childhood to the present.

The icicles represent the cold winters in Buffalo, N.Y., my January birthplace, as does the ethereal, frosty wolf. Buffalo is so flat that if you step on a curb, you are now at the highest point around.

So, of course, my favorite places became the colorful, serene canyons of Arizona, Utah & California. Favorite animals are the white lion, white tiger and white wolf.

I enjoy sub-tropical and tropical settings especially in Spring and Summer. Thus the Philodendron leaf and Hibiscus flowers of Hawaii are appealing to me.

Flowing through the canyon is the River of Life, depicting 3 stages starting with the boldly colorful yellow-orange Hibiscus on to an exotic blue-green Hibiscus floating serenely by to the haunting, ethereal, misty gray flower.

And through it all is a touching, tender LongingŠin this place of solitude, peace and beauty.

A Child -
Midst the frosty beauty of snow and
crystalline water
That touched her tender heart.
Longing...

A young woman - alone
Surrounding her pain with visions she loved -
A Tropical Leaf - vibrant, green, alive.
Flowers of Beauty,
Everchanging, flower along the
River of Time...
Boldly colorful to blue-green exotic
To a haunting, ethereal gray
Longing...

White Wolf - snowy, pure, radiant
In the Canyon - Alone
A place of solitude and beauty
Longing...
